Of course, the struggle to protect women's health happens every day and in every state. Just look at what's happening in New Jersey right now. Republican Governor Christie is bullying the legislature, and is on the verge of eliminating state funding for family planning — simply because he doesn't think it would be "appropriate" to include family planning money in his budget. Governor Christie's budget cuts would restrict access to lifesaving, preventive services, such as breast exams and Pap tests, and basic care like birth control.
That's why we stand strong against governors and state legislators who push laws that would place new burdens on women seeking reproductive health care. It's why we are always ready to lead the way against members of Congress who try to undermine women's health. It's why we need your support today.
