An ultrasound is one of the first encounters a mother has with her baby. She can see her child's heart beat, and monitor her baby's development and health — but Planned Parenthood uses ultrasounds for a very different reason…
If there was any doubt about President Donald Trump’s stance on abortion, he settled it Monday by using an executive order to bar U.S. aid to groups that provide or promote the procedure overseas.
The decision to reinstate the Republican policy known as the “Mexico City policy,” or the “global gag rule,” was delivered a day after the 44th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion and two days after the Women’s March on Washington and similar events across the country drew crowds to rally for reproductive rights, among other issues. During the presidential campaign, Trump vowed to appoint “pro-life” Supreme Court justices. He said that if the Roe decision is overturned, the question of whether abortion is legal would go back to individual states.
The Mexico City policy has been instituted by every Republican president since Ronald Reagan and rescinded by Democratic presidents. It prohibits NGOs that receive federal funding — including health care providers or organizations — from providing or promoting abortion or from advocating for abortion laws abroad.
The policy was issued by executive order, just as it has been done by past Republican presidents, often within days of taking office. It comes on the heels of a sweeping order Trump signed Friday evening encouraging federal agencies to dismantle large parts of Obamacare.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) said Trump’s move puts “ideological politics over women and families’ futures,”adding she would introduce bipartisan legislation to reverse the policy.
Abortion-right s group NARAL immediately issued a statement Monday condemning Trump’s move. “It’s telling that one of Trump’s first executive actions combines two of his favorite things: silencing anyone who disagrees with him and repressing women,” the group said. “With this action, Donald Trump has turned his anti-women rhetoric into policy, and made it more difficult for women and families all over the world to access vital reproductive care. He really is living up to the lowest of expectations.”

Thank those who voted No and express your outrage to those who voted Yes and tell them you expect them to Vote No on any attempt to override the Governor’s vetoes of these bills and that you also expect them to vote No on any future attempt to fund Planned Parenthood with our tax dollars. You can send a prewritten email to your legislators from our website by clicking on the tab that says, “Legislation.” It’s the third item on the page. Thank you.
Both the Senate & Assembly scheduled two bills for a vote on Monday, June 27th that will use our hard earned tax dollar to fund Planned Parenthood. They are A3492/S2277 and A1963/S1017. Take action to oppose now! On Thursday, Assembly Dems continually tried to censor the truth about Planned Parenthood. This occurred when NJRTL Exec Dir Marie Tasy attempted to tell the Assembly budget committee why Planned Parenthood should not be funded by taxpayers and was repeatedly and rudely interrupted by the Chair and only given 3 minutes to provide remarks while PP officials were allowed to provide testimony uninterrupted and were even praised and thanked by the Chair. Our comments did not make it into the News coverage even though our written remarks were provided to the press. Please take action on these bills now! Please don’t allow Planned Parenthood’s lobbyists and their bullies in the legislature to censor the truth about Planned Parenthood! Take action now to let your lawmakers know where you stand on this issue!
NJ taxpayers: Take Action to make sure your hard earned money is not used to fund Planned Parenthood! Call and write your State Senator and Two Assembly Members and tell them to Vote No on A3492/S2277 and A1963/S1017! We plan to publish these votes. Tell your legislators: A vote in favor of these bills is a vote to fund the killing of children by the nation’s largest abortion provider.
Take action at the third item on this page: http://njrtl.org/legislation/
Please see below for the June 27, 2016 vote tallies on the Planned Parenthood funding bills.
Please note that a “yes” vote is a vote in favor of forcing taxpayers to fund the largest abortion provider in the nation, Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is currently the subject of a federal investigation by Congress for selling baby body parts, which is in violation of federal law. If your State Senator and Assembly members voted for these bills, call them and express your outrage.
Please also contact Governor Christie and urge him to veto these bills.

Fetal tissue isn’t needed to cure diseases
The Star-Ledger’s editorial regarding fetal tissue and defense of Planned Parenthood relies on broad, unsupported claims that fetal tissue is needed to help cure certain diseases and illnesses. However, your presumptions rely on antiquated science. Nothing usable for patients has come from the research you cite. Current, progressive alternatives such as induced pluripotent stem cells provide an unlimited source of cells, which can be produced from tissue of any human being, without harm to the individual donor, and with the ability to form virtually any cell type for study or potential clinical application. Stem cells from umbilical cord blood also show significant potential, but also have unique advantages for clinical applications and are already treating patients for numerous conditions. These are ethical, viable alternatives to using body parts from aborted babies.
You are correct that the imagery of an unborn baby on the video makes this a volatile subject, with one distinction. The babies in these videos did not die peaceful, natural deaths; they were deliberately and brutally crushed, dismembered and sliced apart for their brains, hearts, livers, pancreases and other organs. The fetal tissue you cite in those studies has been obtained in many cases from unborn babies at stages where fetal surgery is now used to correct anomalies in the womb and save lives, and at stages where science now demonstrates that unborn babies at these stages can feel pain. We should all agree that this inhumane and callous treatment of innocent human beings must end, and no organization that participates in these types of atrocities should be funded by taxpayers.
Marie Tasy is executive director of New Jersey Right to Life.
This video shows Cate Dyer, CEO of Stem Express discussing baby body part procurement with undercover investigators. Dyer calls Planned Parenthood “a volume institution” and admits they handle a number of “intact cases”; i.e., whole bodies of aborted babies, which she says they “have done a lot of.” She also said they “ship those (intact cases) back to our lab in its entirety.” She also admits that contamination is an issue, including yeast contamination. Dyer also calls the problem with bacteria “rampant” and hints that many of the clinics shouldn’t even be in business. Dyer is asked what would make her happy, and she says, “50 livers a week and then goes on to explain “it’s volume for us, we still need more. A lot of volume is what we do.” She also says that they don’t expect to be hitting capacity for the next 10 years. When asked if she felt it was not profitable for abortion clinics to procure the baby body parts, she said “I haven’t seen that.” She also says the lab technicians “freak out” and have “meltdowns” when they see the baby body parts, with some requesting that the hands and feet not be attached. She also admits that this is why a lot of researchers are getting away from using baby body parts and are instead using adult-human sampling. In speaking about neural tissue (i.e., brain tissue), she said it is “insanely fragile” and the “hardest to ship” and admitted that is why they procure and ship the whole calvarium (head). This is the video Stem Express did not want viewers to see and it is no wonder. Please continue to spread the word and educate others about these videos. Thank you.
