UPDATE: The U.S. Supreme Court issued an emergency order on May 14, 2026 in the mifepristone case, temporarily maintaining mail-order access to the abortion pill while litigation continues. This means the lower court restrictions requiring in-person medical visits remain on hold for now.

Justices Alito and Thomas dissented, while the majority kept the FDA’s current telehealth and mail-order framework in place as the case moves forward.

This is still an ongoing legal battle and is expected to return to the Courts again.
