Below is a link to a state report indicating  that 91 individuals participated in NJ’s assisted suicide law in 2022 and obtained lethal medicine which caused their deaths.  The numbers almost doubled from the 2021 report which listed 50 individuals ending their lives through NJ’s law for that year.   According to the report, the age of patients in 2022 was between 32 and 99 years (see p. 5),with 10 individuals ranging in age from 35-54 years of age.

Sadly, these numbers are likely to increase if assisted suicide advocates succeed in eliminating NJ’s residency requirement.  Great strides in medicine and science are made every day, and the fact that younger individuals are now giving up hope that they may in fact be cured or have their condition improved and instead opting to end their lives, demonstrates how terribly dangerous, misguided and flawed these types of law truly are.
