Despite a forecast predicting thunderstorms and even a possible tornado, a record-setting huge crowd of more than 1,500 passionate pro-life advocates gathered in Trenton yesterday for the 2nd Annual New Jersey Rally & March for Life — and what a joy it was to see!

The energy was contagious as people of all ages came together with one voice, one mission, and one purpose: to speak for those who have no voice. Partnering once again with our friends at the March for Life, the event brought together powerful speakers, dedicated volunteers, inspiring music, and people from every corner of the state determined to be a witness for life.

A special highlight was the large number of students and youth groups who came out in force. The March was led by Immaculata High School, whose students set a joyful and determined tone as they guided the procession through the streets of Trenton. Their presence reminded everyone that this movement is alive, growing, and filled with future leaders ready to carry the torch forward.

The program was expertly emceed by Pastor Brennan Coughlin of Fellowship Crosspoint Church, whose energy and encouragement kept the crowd engaged from start to finish. Inspiring music was provided by the Mountaintop Worship Band, creating a hopeful and uplifting atmosphere throughout the event.

The speaker lineup was both inspiring and deeply moving. State Senator Doug Steinhardt (R-23) and Assemblyman Brian Rumpf (R-9) challenged attendees to remain engaged in the political process and continue advocating for pro-life laws in New Jersey. Several other pro-life legislators were also in attendance to show their support, including Senator Owen Henry (R-12), Assemblyman Erik Peterson (R-23), Assemblyman Greg Myhre (R-9), Assemblyman Robert Auth (R-9), Assemblyman John Azzariti (R-39), and Assemblyman Mike Inganamort (R-24).

Jennie Bradley Lichter, President of March for Life, thanked the crowd for the warm welcome and recounted that her first March was 25 years ago as a student at Notre Dame. She exhorted everyone to never give in to despair despite the challenging political landscape in New Jersey, reminding attendees with conviction that Life Wins.

Joan Fasanello, Executive Director of Life Choices in Phillipsburg, shared about the life-saving work of her center, followed by Terysa Kich, a proud mom whose life was changed because of the help she received there. Their testimony reminded everyone why this mission matters — because real lives are being saved every day.

The keynote address was delivered by Christina Francis, MD, CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life OB-GYNs. Dr. Francis thanked attendees for continuing this fight in the face of extreme opposition. She shared that 76–93% of OB-GYNs do not perform induced abortions and highlighted the miracle of abortion pill reversal. She stressed that she and doctors like her treat miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, and life-threatening pregnancy complications without performing abortions, and that there is not a single state law preventing doctors from providing life-saving care. She also called out the spread of false and misleading pro-abortion information, promising that advocates will never stop speaking the truth. Dr. Francis said that she has no doubt that, because of the courage and commitment of advocates in the Garden State, lives will be saved.

The rally concluded with a beautiful Closing Blessing from Bishop Joseph Williams of the Camden Diocese, sending marchers out with renewed strength and hope.

The rally did not shy away from hard truths. Since Roe v. Wade, more than 65 million children have lost their lives to abortion. In 2024 alone, approximately 59,830 babies lost their lives to abortion in New Jersey, a tragic outcome attributed to the state’s extreme promotion of abortion. Today, many of these lives are ended through the abortion pill — a pill that not only ends a precious life but also leaves deep and lasting wounds on women. Each of those children was unique, unrepeatable, and valuable simply because they were human.

Speakers reminded the crowd that one life can change the world — just as Charlie Kirk’s life demonstrates. His life is a testament to the power of a single person to alter the course of history, and it inspires us to speak up boldly and without apology: their lives matter.

We also honored and stood in solidarity with our state’s pregnancy resource centers — the courageous front-line heroes who meet women in moments of crisis, offering compassion, practical help, and life-affirming choices.

The March was not a protest, but a powerful proclamation of hope, life, and love. It reaffirmed the commitment of everyone present to speak the truth, defend the innocent, and build a New Jersey where every mother is supported, every child is protected, and every life is cherished. Together, participants left inspired, united, and determined to continue this vital work for years to come.
